EGSC Graduates March in December Commencement
Fall Commencement Ceremonies at East Georgia State College were held on Saturday, December 15, at 10 a.m. in the EGSC Gymnasium of the Physical Education Center. Eighty-eight students received their associate degree from the College. This marks one of the largest number of graduates during fall semester in the history of East Georgia State College.
Dr. Robert G. Boehmer, president of East Georgia State College, presided over the ceremony. The commencement speaker was Dr. Paul Cerpovicz, associate professor of chemistry in the Division of Mathematics and Science at East Georgia State College.

Haley Grace was the student marshal for the ceremony. The ushers were: Alexander Kemp Akins, Austin Marie Carruth, Haley Brooke Chester, Linda Aurora Gonzales, Lauren Elizabeth Hendley, Raven Grace Hudson, Lee Alexander Humphrey, Kenneth Earl McClendon, Marco Antonio Montes, Vanessa Lynea Morris, Olivia Taylor Rigdon, Julie Victoria Scott, and Ashley Brooke Youmans. Ushers serving at the ceremony are East Georgia State College Ambassadors, who are committed to promoting pride in the college and interest in the various programs available to students at East Georgia State College. Mrs. Susan Westberry was the pianist for the commencement ceremonies and Mr. Gilbert Westberry, minister of music at First Baptist Church of Swainsboro and part-time instructor of music at East Georgia State College was the musical director.
Following the commencement, President and Mrs. Robert Boehmer hosted a reception honoring the graduates and their families.
