In the last week, the East Georgia State College Bobcats continued to cement themselves as the front running team in the conference with a few games left to play before conference-tourney time by defeating Central Georgia Tech twice and beating Albany Tech as well.

In the first matchup against Central Georgia Tech, the Bobcats used the crowd and home court advantage to jump out to a huge lead, but had to dig deep to eventually finish off the victory by a score of 92-87.

D.J. Felder was the star in this one, going for 24 points with 10 rebounds, two assists, two steals, and three blocks. Jordan Johnson held his own as well, scoring 22 points for the Bobcats. Trey Hagood scored seven points with five rebounds, seven assists, and three steals.

The Bobcats then traveled to Albany Tech and came away with a very tough 75-70 win. Felder once again played a major role by scoring 15 points and grabbing six rebounds and a steal. Larry Bullock was clutch for the Bobcats, only missing two shots and scoring 12 points with three rebounds, one assist, and two steals.

The Bobcats then took the road again to play Central Georgia Tech again and ended up winning what was a nail-biter until the last minute by a score of 84-76.

With Felder out with a knee injury, Brian Pearson and Coco Brown really stepped up for the Bobcats. Pearson scored 10 points and eight rebounds and got four steals. Brown came off the bench and scored 14 points with five rebounds and one assist. Trey Hagood had another great game, scoring 19 points with 10 assists, seven rebounds, and five steals.

The men’s and women’s basketball teams next home game will be Saturday, February 23rd, for the final regular season home game.
