Facing one of the hottest weeks so far in the summer of 2013, the East Georgia State Bobcat Baseball program hosted the Chuck Lusted Baseball Academy youth baseball camp last week. Approximately 25 Emanuel County area little leaguers attended the camp run by Head Bobcats Coach Chuck Lusted. He was assisted by former Bobcat catcher Alan Donnelly and current Assistant Coach Mike Brantley. All three of these guys know just how exciting it can be to play on a college field for a little leaguer. Each day, the campers came out full of excitement ready to run their drills, working on every aspect of the game, from fine tuning their catching skills on each of the bases to hitting techniques at home plate.
Taking frequent water breaks to combat the stifling heat, the kids worked hard and by the end of the week overall improvements were made to significantly impact their game. So next spring they are going to be hard working little league machines. Lookout Dixie Youth League!
